Water damage from the dishwasher caused some of the the cabinet bases/toe kicks to begin to rot. In this picture the toekicks are being rebuilt with particle board. 44” steel brackets are installed to support the weight of this heavy quartz countertop.
Starting on the right is the original box and front. I removed the old drawer front and then cut 3/4” off the front edge of the box. A 3/4” particle board backer is glued and pinned with 1” brads to the box, strengthening the whole drawer and giving the new front a solid backing to attach to.
New drawer fronts are clamped to particle board backer, and then adjusted to correct placement. Instead of pulling a tape on every drawer, I cut cheater blocks at 3/4” and 1 3/4” , which are the top and side reveals, and used a rubber mallet to bump new front into position. Panels installed and primer coat applied to face frames. In progress
